The CNIT Workshop in Korea on the research in Italy has finished

On October the 23rd 2008 in Seoul, within the current pattern of events of the “Italia in Corea” Science and Technology section, the meeting “Telecom Research in Italy: CNIT Presentation Workshop” took place in the Shilla Hotel where 4 presentations were given by CNIT – Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni top as put on the agenda.

The meeting was organized in Seoul by CNIT since Korea is a world leader Country in the ICT field and is therefore more and more important to Italy to strengthen the bilateral cooperation relations with this Country. CNIT delegation was top-level due to the presence of President Prof. Giancarlo Prati, Director Prof. Silvano Pupolin, Vice President Prof. Enrico del Re and Prof. Giovanni Emanuele Corazza, member of the CNIT Scientific Board.

The meeting aim was the introduction of CNIT through its research activities, results and future agenda. A particular stress was put on joint research project applications within the European Union being CNIT one of the promoters of such programs.
Deep interest has already been shown by several Korean Universities concerning the possibility to join CNIT with the view to be involved in the European Seventh Research Framework Programme.
The meeting was followed by the “2008 Bilateral Korea-Italy Workshop on Photonics for Communication and Sensing” workshop that was closed on October the 24th.

Korean Newspaper and Websites in English and Korean reported the news about the meeting and an interview with Prof. Giancarlo Prati, CNIT President, was published by the Korea Times.
