We cordially invite you to submit your work to the 12th IEEE Conference on Network Functions Virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (IEEE NFV-SDN 2026), to be held November 2-4, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.

IEEE NFV-SDN is a premier IEEE Communications Society forum for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry working on Network Function Virtualization, Software-Defined Networking, and Cloud-Native Network Functions. The 2026 edition focuses particularly on 6G deployment initiatives, AI/ML-driven network automation, O-RAN, and cloud-native architectures.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
Emerging advances in network architecture, including Network Slicing
Optimization of virtualized infrastructures, including HW acceleration
SDN/CNF/NFV in recent and novel architecture paradigms
AI/ML techniques and network softwarization
AI/ML applications for SDN and NFV
O-RAN Specifications and Standards
Integration of AI/ML in O-RAN
SDN/NFV orchestration and operations in 6G network and cloud continuum
Data/control plane performance, interoperability, and scalability studies
Advances in future communication infrastructure enabled by SDN, CNF, and NFV
Submission Guidelines:
– Full technical papers: max 6 pages (IEEE double-column format, 10pt font)
– One additional page allowed with overlength charge of USD 100
– Papers must be original, unpublished, and in English

CALL FOR TUTORIALS
Tutorial proposals are invited on NFV, SDN, and CNF topics. Tutorials will be held on November 2, 2026. Tutorial speakers (up to 2 per tutorial) receive complimentary conference registration and are eligible for the Best Tutorial Award.
