Senior Research collaborator, Researcher, Senior Technical collaborator, Technical Manager – RaSS Lab
The CNIT RaSS Lab – Radar & Surveillance Systems, invites expressions of interest in view of the opening of new positions at the level of Senior Research collaborator, Researcher, Senior Technical collaborator and Technical Manager Positions.
The CNIT RaSS Lab expects candidates with significant accomplishments who are committed to reach further promising achievements in the areas of Telecommunication, Computer and Electronic Engineering, Physical and Mathematical sciences with applications to sensors and signal processing and electromagnetics.
Successful candidates will be expected to have a strong publication record and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The candidates should have a proven record of participation and possibly leadership in research projects. Knowledge of English, both written and spoken is essential, knowledge of Italian is appreciated but not required.

The CNIT RaSS Lab
CNIT is a no-profit consortium composed of 50 Research Units (42 Italian Universities, 8 Departments of the National Research Council-CNR) and 7 National Laboratories.
The RaSS Lab was founded in 2010 with the purpose of creating a critical mass to face research challenges in the field of radar and applied electromagnetics.
Today, RaSS Lab is located in Pisa and counts 35 people among researchers, technical and administrative staff.
The RaSS Lab has participated in several national and international research projects (often as leader).
RaSS also focuses its effort on dissemination activities, including journal and book publications, presentations at international conferences, training activities under the form of short courses, tutorials, seminars and lectures for industry, government and various research institutions.
RaSS values all its collaborations nationally and internationally, counting today more than 50 partners across, industry, academia and both government and non-government research institutions.
RaSS has a strong participation in both the NATO and the European Defence Agency (EDA) contexts, where its personnel hold key roles within Panels and CapTechs.
RaSS is strongly involved and participates in research and experimental activities at the JCC lab. “Ugo Tiberio”, a joint Italian navy CSSN and CNIT laboratory.
Research Areas
RaSS Lab carries out its research and technological transfer activities in the field of:
- radar,
- applied electromagnetism, antennas and propagation,
- electromagnetic devices and materials, metamaterials,
- remote sensing,
- telecommunication,
- signal processing,
- sensors network security,
The RaSS Lab is organized in research areas, explorative research, laboratories, Safety and prevention, secretariat, quality control and media & communication. Specifically, the current research areas are: radar systems, radar signal/image processing, remote sensing, antennas, electromagnetic modelling & materials.
