The passive radar demonstrator SMARP realized by RaSS Lab-CNIT is on the cover page of the IEEE AES Magazine
The passive radar demonstrator SMARP (Software-defined Multiband Array Passive Radar) appears on the cover page of the February 2017 issue of the high-ranking IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine. The system has been realized during the homonymous research project funded by the Italian MoD under the National Plan for Military Research and carried out by the Radar and Surveillance Systems (RaSS) National Laboratory of CNIT supervised by the CSSN-ITE G. Vallauri Institute of the Italian Navy. Specifically, the magazine cover reports on the left side the surveillance array antenna of the demonstrator installation located on the roof of the G. Vallauri Institute in Livorno and, on the right side, some of the radar plots presented to the operator. A popular scientific article written by Amerigo Capria et al. focused on the SMARP demonstrator application to harbour protection and navigation safety is included in the magazine issue.
